Ride lines are the biggest disappointments for the otherwise fun-filled vacations in Orlando. But thanks to all the good efforts towards eliminating the waiting woes from time to time. The Theme parks and Entertainment giants keep addressing the epic issue with different innovative approaches. Currently, what Universal Orlando Resort is offering in this regard is quite commendable.
Universal’s approach to Virtual-Lines perhaps sets the standards for future experiments and development in taking the queue experience to next level. Given the Resort’s upcoming attractions, namely – “Race through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon” ride and “Volcano Bay” Water Park it seems the next-gen queues are no-more queues after all, they are important part of the adventure story. For example guests visiting the Jimmy Fallon ride will sit-back and relax on the couch and enjoy a racy barber shop quartet sing instead of waiting in lines.
At Volcano Bay it’s the most anticipated Tapu Tapu wearable devices (fused to a wristband) that transforms the queue experience altogether. Get a ride time by scanning your device, and go enjoy the rest of the Park without worrying about the lines. The device will alert you when your ride time is ready. Moreover, along with the queue-less experience, Tapu Tapu comes with other interactive features as well.
Virtual lines are the latest development in theme park’s attempt to eliminate waits and incorporates more fun and entertainment instead of looking at someone’s back. Virtual lines empowers you to utilize the waits in the most entertaining and fun format. They are the futures of ride lines – harbingers of a queue less experience that we all love to have.
The previously available ride reservation system have their own limitations. For example the FastPass or Express Pass facilities by Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando help minimize the wait by assigning ride times in advance. But, you have to do the reservations well ahead of time. Also no visitor is allowed to make reservations for more than three rides a day. However, with the new Virtual Lines concept, Universal removes all such restrictions. You don’t have to be an advance planner to book a ride. You can do that at your own convenience. Better still, there is nothing like Wait anymore. It’s a queue-less experience after all.
