It’s a Sea of Surprises for ‘SeaWorld’ Fans in 2014

50 First Years

50 First Years

The Official Ticket Center ~ Turning 50 is a big achievement. And the achievement only gets bigger and more exciting if it is for a world famous theme park company. Back in May 2005 when the first of the Disney Parks turned fifty, fans were just stunned with the biggest and longest Birthday celebration in the history of Theme Parks ever. The 18-months long, multi-park festival under the masthead-Happiest Celebration on Earth had rocked the world then. Today once again we are almost on the doorstep of another celebration of such great magnitude. But this time instead of Disney we have the SeaWorld Parks as the host under the banner-Sea of Surprises. We are very excited to know that the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Co. is celebrating its five-decades of successful journey of entertaining guests with unique marine experiences.

The original SeaWorld Park in San Diego is turning 50 early next year. And the company is all set to commemorate the special occasion with a robust, 18-month long, multi-park anniversary celebration starting March 2014. For the SeaWorld fans it is all about celebrating a Sea of Surprises now. Whether you are visiting the SeaWorld San Diego, or the Orlando Park or San Antonio for that matter, the spirit of celebration will be alive and experienced everywhere throughout the year and beyond.

The special program named – Sea of Surprises is expected to bring a host of exclusive and most memorable SeaWorld experiences. Fans can expect all kinds of exciting, adorable and hilarious activities, including new interactive experiences, spectacular shows and performances, extreme and more up-close marine encounters and last but not the least exclusive interactions with the SeaWorld Surprise Squad.

Another major highlight of the celebration includes the already announced Explorer’s Reef which is intended to change the pristine front gate concept of the San Diego Park forever. Guest will enter the park through a giant wave sculpture, which leads to the Explorer’s Reef – designed to make you feel as if walking on the bottom of the ocean. The new entry plaza will also feature four touch – pools, where visitors will have close encounters with variety of marine creatures like never before.

Moreover, at the Busch Gardens Tampa, the celebration is expected to reach new heights with a new ride experience named Falcon’s Fury. The world’s first face-down drop tower is intended to make you fall straight down from a 335 feet height at the speed of the fastest animal on the Earth. Finally, with all the good things happening and the new attractions and surprises coinciding the mega anniversary celebration, we have the most special SeaWorld experiences ahead.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex 10 Year Master Plan

NASA officials announced on 4/12/11 that Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has been selected to permanently display space shuttle Atlantis upon retirement of the Space Shuttle Program. Atlantis, one of three orbiters in the space shuttle fleet, will fly the last scheduled space shuttle mission before being retired in 2011.

The $100 million exhibit for Atlantis will be the marquee element of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s 10-year master plan. Initial design concepts for the 65,000 square-foot home for the space-flown orbiter include viewing the space shuttle “in flight,” showing how the spacecraft worked in space and providing a unique vantage point for guests to look at the complex vehicle up close. Complementing the orbiter display will be interactive features reflecting major accomplishments of the Space Shuttle Program, including the Hubble Space Telescope and the International Space Station.

Officials with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex plan to break ground on Atlantis’ new home in 2012 with a grand opening planned for 2013. The orbiter home will be located in the Shuttle Plaza at the main Visitor Complex; incorporating the Shuttle Launch Experience attraction.
