KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (March 18, 2010) – As the Space Shuttle Program counts down before retirement; one of its bright stars continues to shine. The furthest depths of the universe are vividly brought to life through the eyes of the Hubble Space Telescope during Hubble 3D, the newest IMAX® 3D film from the award-winning IMAX space team, opening at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Friday, March 19, 2010. The film, narrated by three-time Academy Award® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, recounts the amazing journey of the most important scientific instrument since Galileo’s original telescope.

There is no better place to watch the inspiring story of the Hubble Space Telescope than from Kennedy Space Center – the place where Space Shuttle Discovery, STS-31, launched in 1990 and deployed the greatest telescope ever built into Earth orbit.

Through the power of IMAX 3D, the film will transport audiences to distant galaxies to explore the grandeur and mysteries of our celestial surroundings, and accompany space-walking astronauts as they attempt the most difficult and important tasks in NASA’s history. The film offers an exhilarating and unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope’s legacy and highlights its profound impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves.
