“Here’s to the Heroes”, a program that pays tribute to members of U.S. and coalition armed forces and their families by providing them with free admission, has been extended through 2010. The program provides a single day’s free admission to any one Sea World or Busch Gardens park, Sesame Place, Adventure Island, or Water Country USA for the service member and as many as three of his or her dependents. Sea World Discovery Cove and Aquatica are not included in the program currently.
Under the program, any active duty, active reserve, ready reserve service member or Natioanl Guardsman representing any of the five service branches can participate. The service members only need to register before, either online or at the entrance to any of the parks, and present a Department of Defense photo ID.
“Here’s to the Heroes” is sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, and was launched in 2005 to celebrate the service of military men and women and the sacrifices made by their families. After InBev bought Anehuser-Busch and then sold off the Sea World Parks and Entertainment portion of the company to Blackstone, some guests and team members were concerned that the military tribute program would cease to exist. Everyone is very pleased to see that the program will be extended for at least another year.
“This is one small way we can acknowledge and thank the soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen and Coast Guardsmen whose service helps to preserve the freedom and safety of every American,” said Dave Peacock, president of Anheuser-Busch. “It’s important to all of us at Anheuser-Busch that we show our gratitude to the men and women of our armed forces and their families for the sacrifices they make on our behalf.”
