Staying Cool At A Orlando Theme Park Near You

Winter time in Florida is almost here and the temperatures are rising at the theme parks to prove it. The biggest issue a traveler has when visiting the parks during the hot and humid times is their stamina and sweating to death. There are many issues that will make or break a person during their vacation here and keeping cool is at the top of that list! So many times you hear of travelers coming to the Orlando area and visiting the parks wearing as little as possible. You would think that showing up to the Magic Kingdom or Universal Studios wearing almost nothing in order to stay cool would be the best idea but time and time again this proves to be a very bad idea!

First off I would like to tell you that I used to work at Disney World for 8 years and I have seen it all. The tourist that are there on their first day and hitting the parks in the morning and then showing up at the end of that day looking like a fried lobster. The look on their faces resembling a fresh fried piece of red  leather and heat waves rolling up their whole body! Not fun and surely not feeling good! I have seen people get physically ill from too much sun to the point of needing medical attention. This is not how to stay cool folks. People from Europe are the worst when visiting our theme parks and get burned up in the first few day.

Staying cool in Florida is not that hard and requires just a few simple things. The biggest thing one must do is lather up with the sun screen! Head to toe and applying throughout the day. No exceptions. Next wear a long sleeve shirt that you won’t mind getting wet in. Ladies might want to wear a undershirt for this! Throughout the day when you start getting hot, pour a cup of water all over your shirt! This will cool your body core down and make you feel like you just jumped in a nice cold pool. Next bring a big plastic water bottle that you can refill at the parks for free. Drinking water will also bring your core body temperature down considerably. This will also save you money rather than buying water in the parks.

The biggest and best way to cool down would have to be airconditioning! Get your shirt wet and go stand or sit on one of the many areas inside at the theme parks. If you can’t find on ask! A cast member will tell you the best areas to go take a break at. I try to always take two pairs of cloths with me when I go to the parks, one for getting wet at the parks in and one for the end of the evening. This will make your trip home not a funky one! Wear a big hat and wear cool towel to wear around your neck. There are many on the market that state they are a cooling towel and they do work. Remember to pace yourself and take those breaks! It’s a vacation, not a race.

Theme Parks, Screaming Parents and Disfunction Oh My!

Have you ever been on vacation and witnessed a situation that made you cringe or better yet made you want to rethink your choice of destination? I can’t count how many times I have been at a theme park in Orlando and witnessed a parent yelling at a tired child or worse seen grown adults getting into fights over the dumbest things. The other day I was waiting for the Ferry Boat to take me and my little princess back to the parking lot and Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park and a older man walked right up next to us and started clipping his nasty nails within feet of my little girl. When I said excuse me sir, he just looked at me and went right back to making his nasty little pile of fingernail clippings. When he was done, he just kicked them around and spread them for the people to walk through.

Nastyness is everywhere and I guess it is all in how you deal with it. You may remember not to long ago, two women at one of the other Disney parks got into a fistacuf over someone getting to close in line and then started beating the crap out of one another with umbrellas all while children looked on. Such an ugly site for anyone to witness but those little souls were probably scared for life after seeing the ugly side of adults at such a magical place. I have to admit that there have been times that I have lost my cool, but was smart enough to take a deep breath and walk away, but all to often this is not the case. When you mix long days with heat and add a little beer to the mix, things are going to get a little testy from time to time.

Last week I was at Universal Studios Orlando and witnessed a man yelling at the top of his lungs at his little boy for not moving in the right direction for dads perfect vacation photo. I think he knew he was losing it when everyone around him just liked at him with shame, but some people just do give a damn about how they are acting or how they look doing it! When you start mixing long hot days with screaming kids and throw in a beer or two, things are going to get a little ugly. Some of the worst times that I have been at a theme park and just saw absolute chaos had to be at Epcot during their International Wine & Food Festival. Not a place for non-drinking people who do not like to see loud obnoxious people have a good time.

If you are a traveler who wishes to visit during the least stressful time, I recommend going during time when kids are in school and the season is cool with no 100 degree days. The hottest times seem to be the most stressful times as many travelers are not used to our hot steamy Florida days. It can suck the life right out of someone, leaving them stressed and dehydrated. This is not good if you are supposed to be taking of kids or elderly people. Just remember to stay cool, come during the right time and try to stay away from drink festivals if traveling with small children. How to Allocate Time Between Walt Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando

The biggest issue when anyone goes on a vacation is how much time one can spent at any destination and have the most fun right? Well this has been a new issue with many travelers to the Orlando theme parks lately. Not to long ago Disney World was the destination of choice and there was only 1 other attraction keeping Disney from the theme park monopoly and that company’s name was SeaWorld. The travelers of the past would come down by the hundreds of thousands and spend at least a whole week exploring Walt’s theme parks. Some would take a day and go to SeaWorld while others would just stay the whole time over at Walt Disney World enjoying the parks and sitting by anyone of Walt’s resorts. Even though there was only 2 parks at that time, folks would still stay 3 or 4 days at Disney then head over to A1A on the east coast and stay there for a few days more.

Well time have changed and this is not the case anymore. With more and more people wanting something different while on their Florida vacation, many big companies threw their hats into the huge vacation circle and staked their claims. The increase in venues gave old travelers a reason to come back to their favourite vacation destination, while enticing new travelers to book their travels to Orlando as well. This was becoming a beacon to not only American families, but world wide. Orlando now was not just from the good ole USA, it was a world wide destination and nothing could stop it! When the news broke out about this new vacation destination, people started lining up to book their Florida vacation.

The biggest new injection to the scene had to be Universal Studios. It seemed that Disney and Universal were like McDonald’s and Burger King, where you find one you will find the other. That gave Orlando 3 big players and unfortunately started syphoning vacation days away from Walt Disney World. In the beginning, Disney had the mindset that they would have nothing to worry about and that was a big mistake and now Disney is having a very hard time selling their multi day tickets. This is due to the fact that Universal Studios Orlando built a 2nd park right next door and called it Islands of Adventure. With having so may things to choose from now, one needs to take this planning thing very serious.

Choosing the right tickets for your vacation now comes down to how many days you have to play and what parks do you want to visit. Pretty simple right? It can be and if you are trying to do this alone, it can feel overwhelming. Good thing there are people to call and talk to. If you need help and are ready to reach out for advice, call our office to free at 1-877-406-4836 today. You can save time and money on your Disney tickets, Universal studios tickets and even SeaWorld.

King Kong Comes Back to Orlando

Kong Comes Back to Life at Universal Orlando

Kong Comes Back to Life at Universal Orlando

Quick Update ~ Last week I tipped my hat that Universal Orlando Resort was going to bring back a very popular attraction that was lost over a decade ago. Universal Orlando it seems has confirmed that Kong will be brought back to life. It is not yet confirmed where the attraction is going to be, but my guess is over at Islands of Adventure next to Jurassic Park. I was over there about four months ago and construction was already underway. You would think that maybe it would segue into the new Jurassic Park movie coming out but your guess is as good as mine. Let’s just hope that it is themed after the Peter Jackson version of King Kong and maybe a tour around Skull Island.

Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Tree Tavern Closure Due Summer 2015

If you are a big fan of Americana Cuisine and just happen to be visiting the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom park, then you have probably already heard of the Liberty Tree Tavern located in Liberty Square. This colonial style inn has been serving New England inspired fare for many years and has built up quit a fan base among Disney travelers. Starting this July 2015 until November 20th this time capsule of the days of Colonial Willamsburg, will be closed for refurbishment. There have been rumored reports that this is for typical face lift issues that are needed from time to time due to the traffic that this restaurant receives or it could be upgrades for more easier access for the disabled (ADA). If you recall, Disney did the same thing back in 2014 at Memento Mori when it was still the Yankee Trader. For whatever reason, I’m sure that it will look fantastic when it is done! If you are planning a visit to the Magic Kingdom this year and before it closes for the year, advance reservations are strongly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit.

Are There Really Orlando Attraction Tickets for the Whole Family?

It may sound too good to be true, but there truly is something for everyone in your whole family in Orlando.  Orlando isn’t just kid-friendly, it’s also home to some amazing adult-focused entertainment too.  When you want something that offers fun and innovative experiences for your kids along with some fun experiences for Mom and Dad as well, look no further than Orlando attraction tickets for your next vacation and get ready for some serious fun in the sun.

Outside of the standard must-sees like Walt Disney World and Epcot, consider including a stop to Discovery Cove if you are looking for a unique family experience.  The park, which limits admission to a small number per day, includes opportunities to swim with dolphins, feed large and small exotic birds and go snorkeling at the in-house coral reef.  The park also has a wonderful lazy river and secluded beaches for a peaceful “day at the beach” without making the drive to the coast.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is another great spot for adventure in Orlando that whole family will enjoy.  The park includes an authentic safari adventure in open Jeeps, where you’ll pass by the park’s residents, which include zebras, giraffes and even rhinos.  There are also plenty of opportunities to get close to the animals, thanks to multiple petting areas and trails throughout eh park.  And of course, there are some trademark Disney rides for those that want a more thrilling experience!

For the older kids or for Mom and Dad’s date night, consider a trip to Cirque du Soleil, the world famous circus show.  Located in the Downtown Disney district , where it is now permanently showcase, Cirque du Soleil offers a spectacular array of dizzying acrobatics, beautiful dance and elegant circus arts.  It’s an amazing experience that’s sure to stick with you long after you’ve left the show.

There’s so much to see and do in Florida that often the hardest part of planning a trip is simply deciding which places you most want to see.  Save money by purchasing discounted tickets and you’ll be able to see more of what you want.  It’s the smart way to plan a great trip that you can afford.

Is Reservation the Answer to Theme Parks’ Fight Against Long Wait Lines?

No More Waiting in Lines

No More Waiting in Lines

Orlando’s theme parks are the world’s most celebrated destinations of fun and fascinations that exceed all imaginations.. But the long and unexpected queues or wait lines often found in front of the favorite rides and attractions here invariably act as a barrier to the unique experience that every family or a vacationer dreams of. The unavoidable long lines in fact are the biggest challenges for the theme park administrations as well. It’s really interesting to know that the entire industry is taking the war against wait lines seriously. And being a ride enthusiast myself, I think the concept of wait lines will soon be a forgotten past.

Moreover, the advent of ride reservation systems like the WDW’s (Walt Disney World) Fastpass+ Reservation program has shown a better way to deal with the waiting menace. In fact the unique Program is seen as a potential savior, enabling fans to enjoy their favorite rides without worrying about the lines. Though implemented, the program is yet in the testing stage and often becomes the most popular topic of discussions for theme park fans and groups.

If speculations are to be believed then the future rides will be totally reserved. This however makes it mandatory for visitors to choose and book their rides well in advance. There is no doubt that the new and advanced reservation systems are meant to improve the flow of guests during park hours. But then they have their own downsides too. For example visitors who fail to snatch up their share of fastpass- reservations before they run out will have no other alternatives to enjoy their favorite rides for the day. Also there are some who think that theme parks are at risk of earning the visitors ire. According to them by making popular attractions available only through advance booking and forcing guests to plot out plans weeks and months ahead the parks are killing the spontaneity.

Whether you love it or hate it, but the shift towards Ride Reservations has already taken place. With WDW being the biggest investor in this regard, I think there is little to be done with the Lines in future theme park rides for sure. The FastPass+ Reservation System is definitely a unique effort on part of the Disney Orlando Resort. It provides you with a so-called time window when to arrive and hop on in a jiffy. After all theme park guests are happier when they aren’t waiting in lines for hours. This also helps them to buy more quality times for other attractions during the visit.

Orlando vacations are always expensive. And tickets play a major role in influencing the same. But there are many other options available to help you stay on budget. And I suggest you to visit the authorized agents and brokers for some real savings. Trick or Treat with Mickey and his friends

Trick or Treat with Mickey and his friends

It’s no surprise that the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a rare festive delight that WDW (Walt Disney World) has to offer. The dream Event is in fact a great way to explore the world of Disney Villains like never before. And better still- is the prospect of enjoying the latest Dessert Party as part of the special Halloween fantasy. The new one of a kind dining treat Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle is definitely one of the most decadent dessert parties we can have.

Despite being available at a special cost though, I think a visit to the all new Dessert Party is a must to experience the best of what Disney Villains have to offer. Hosted by the villains themselves, it brings to life a unique mix of Halloween fun and dining experience for the entire family. Whether you are enjoying the magical Halloween Parade and Fireworks Spectacular from your preferred viewing area or joining Lady Tremaine and her incredible bunch of evil friends, including other special guests like you at Cinderella’s royal table for a deliciously devilish dessert party, there is no comparison to the fun and entertainment one can have.

For the first time guest to the party, it will be a very special time as they will be able to experience a wonderful mix of the decadent and the wicked right in the middle of the happiest place on Earth. As a special guest of Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle you first enjoy preferred viewing for Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. And then after the magical HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular you depart to Cinderella’s Royal Table for the most devilish dessert party hosted in celebration of the villains’ favorite time of year.

While the Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween Party is one of the most celebrated Halloween events in Orlando, it’s also the most family friendly festive extravaganza unlike any other. During the Event the entire Magic Kingdom transforms into a unique vacation hub, packed with premier fun and entertainment choices for the entire family. Moreover, with every passing year the fun continues to get even more exciting here. And the advent of the new Dessert attraction sets a new standard in this regard.

After enjoying all your favorite festive offerings at the special Event, a visit to the Cinderella’s royal table for the most delicious dessert treat (inspired by villains) is the last thing that you don’t want to miss. I think it’s a complete surprise package in the offing. After all the ability to meet and greet rare characters with no wait, viewing special entertainment with plenty of space to yourself, enjoying delicious desserts, spending quality time inside Cinderella Castle, and having a bag full of special items and candies to bring home is a dream experience.
