Aquatica Hosts Second Annual Polar Plunge at Aquatica

More than 400 brave souls experienced the “thrill of the chill” at Aquatica on Saturday, January 22, during the second annual Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Florida.

Wacky costumes and fun were in abundance as participants were “freezin’ for a reason”
in the chilly 60-degree wave pool.

The event raised more than $190,000 for long-time partner, Special Olympics Florida, which provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver.

Missed the Plunge? No worries! The third annual Polar Plunge is scheduled to be held at Sea World Orlando’s Aquatica in January of 2012.
