Cirque Du Soleil Weekly Scoop
New Circue Du Soleil comes to Orlando
Some 25 years later, Carmen Ruest’s will return to Orlando with latest project bigger than ever. Back in the 70’s, Ruest was performed on stilts in Quebec before La Nouba ever existed. At that time, Club Des Talons Hauts (High Heels Club) was formed becoming known as Cirque Du Soleil.
Now, twenty five years later, Cirque Du Soleil will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary with 5 shows in Tampa including a debute at La Nouba downtown Disney. This time, when Cirque Du Soleil comes to Lakeland, Ruest herself will direct the Saltimbanco Arena Tour. This will be a first-ever world-class show according to analysts.
Saltimbanco which means to “Jump the Bench” will coming to Lakeland for 5 shows. Being less technically advanced, “it was easier to adapt” said Ruest. Saltimbanco debuted in 1992 and later reached stardom in 2007.
Surrounding a common village theme, today people are leaving rural areas and moving to urban settings reflecting the global trends of the time. With so much crime in the cities today, Ruest thought it might be nice to reflect the big cities with positive vibrant colors.
A show for the whole family, Saltimbanco will cause guests to face the future as well as transform their thoughts. With 47 artists from 19 countries, the show offers a whole host of diversity including jugglers, eye-level acrobatics, and solo bike acts. Transforming the show into a traveling arena was no small challenge while maintaining the show size of the stage.
Disney will sponsor a special 25th anniversary show in June for those who want to see it. If you would like to see this amazing performance, please contact our office toll free at 1-877-406-4836 or click this link to purchase your discount Cirque Du Soleil Tickets!
Disney Weekly Scoop
Hi everyone! Pat Pulliam here to tell you about the current Disney Water Park info. As Disney would say,”C’mon in, the water’s fine”! As of March 22nd., Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is open for business. Guests can once again get “Blown Away”! The water park features attractions for the whole family. They have everything from fast waterslides to a children’s area with pint-sized raft rides. You can also catch the 6ft. waves in the Surf Pool and also snorkel with the real sharks over at the Shark Reef. No extra cost for this! Some of the definite must-do’s in their 56 acre topsy-turvey, sun-drenched Water Park are:
Ketchakiddie Creek: This is a water play area filled with fun water features and kid-sized slides– a perfect place to play for little ones who are under 48 inches tall.
Castaway Creek: This is a meandering stream that circles the park– a mild, relaxing ride for Guests of all ages. This is a great place to sip a cold beverage and take a nap!!!
Crush `n` Gusher: This is one of my favorite rides at Typhoon Lagoon. It’s a gravity-defying, multi-rider, coaster-like raft ride with gushing jets of water–a thrill for big kids, teens and adults.
On a side note, I would like to let you in on a little secret! If you ever wanted to learn how to surf without the sharks and sand being cramed in your face, then I will tell you that Typhoon Lagoon has Surfing Lessons in the mornings before the park opens.
