Education Program – “Exploring Our Connectedness”

Last Spring, Blue Man Group at Universal Studios Orlando Resort rolled out a brand new education program, called “Exploring Our Connectedness.”   After receiving extremely positive feedback from teachers and students, they have decided to bring it back this year!  The program will be offered on Thursday, April 22 and Thursday, May 6.

The program is targeted toward middle school and high school students, and begins at 10:30 AM, lasting about 2-hours.  According to the Blue Man Beat Newsletter, the goal of the program is “to have imagination and education merge in our theater to create an exciting and motivating atmosphere that will leave students inspired.”  The unforgettable stage experience combines theater, music, art, science, and technology, including a post-show interactive discussion with the emcee, Blue Man Band members, and the Blue Men themselves (without make-up).

Blue Man Group Joins Forces with UCF Marching Knights

On January 13th, Blue Man Group partnered with the University of Central Florida’s Jammin’ Knights to perform at a Men’s Basketball Game at the UCF Arena.  Blue Man and the Knights prepared for weeks to create one of the most powerful half-time shows ever for the sold-out game against Marshall. 

Christian Chenier, General Manager of Blue Man Group said, “Although Blue Man Group has entertained audiences all over the globe, this is the first time we’ve performed alongside the high energy of a marching ensemble.”

Universal Studios New Ticket Line Up 2010

 Just when you thought that the tickets here in Orlando had reached a point of understanding, think again. I say this in a good way as Universal Studios Orlando Resort has come out with a very vacation friendly ticket line that is sure to please all vacationers here to central Florida. The line of Universal’s new, “Select Ticket Program” will be in effect on Monday, January 18th here at The Official Ticket Center.  In a way, they are the same as the Walt Disney World tickets, minus the water parks. The first line of tickets will be the Universal Studios Base Tickets. These are just like the Disney base tickets that get you into one of their two parks for one visit a day. The base tickets are not hopper tickets and will not allow you to go from park to park. 

The line will consist of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 Day Base Tickets.  The 1-Day Base Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to ONE (1) Universal Orlando Resort (UOR) theme park on any one (1) calendar day.  The Multi-Day Base Tickets are good for one park a day within a 14-day period.  For example, the 7-Day Base Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to ONE (1) UOR theme park per day. Ticket is valid for any seven (7) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. This ticket also includes fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission to the paid entertainment venues of UniversalCityWalk® (”CityWalk“) which commences and includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

Now Universal Studios tickets also include the new Park to Park tickets as well. These are just like the Disney Hopper tickets that allow you to go from one park to another park in the same day, except there will be only 2 parks at Universal Studios. These 2 parks are Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure.

The Park to Park tickets include 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 day options.  The 1-Day Park to Park Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to BOTH UOR theme parks on any one (1) calendar day.   The Multi-Day Park to Park Ticket allows the guest to hop from park to park for however many days the ticket allows for within a 14 day period.  For exmaple, the 7 day Park to Park hopper ticket entitles one (1) guest admission to BOTH UOR theme parks on the same day for the duration of the ticket. Ticket is valid for any seven (7) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. This ticket also includes fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk® (”CityWalk“) which commences and includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

We will also now be selling discount Preferred Annual Universal Studios Passes.  You can enjoy 365 days of unlimited park-to-park admissionto both Universal Studios Florida & Universal’s Islands of Adventure with no blackout dates, free parking, and discounts on food and merchandise for the regular price of $219.99 plus tax.

In addition, the 2-Park Preferred Annual Pass includes:

• 10% savings on 1-day and 15% savings on multi-day theme park tickets (up to 6 people)
• Free admission to select special events such as Mardi Gras & Holidays
• Special discounts on separately ticketed events, such as Halloween Horror Nights and Rock the Universe
• 10% savings at most merchandise stores (restrictions apply on select merchandise)
