New Plans, Names Announced For Upcoming Star Wars Lands at D23 Expo 2017

Disney’s most anticipated and upcoming Star Wars projects have names now. They will be called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Also the experience is not limited to just the new themed lands. There will be a new Star Wars inspired Resort as well. Thanks to D23 Expo 2017 for all the exciting new revelations, plans and major announcements made on Disney Parks & Resorts.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

It’s to be noted that there is no relevancy to any specific film or character arc in the Franchise. Disney’s new Star Wars lands focuses mainly on an unknown planet set on the outer rim of the Galaxy far-far away. And as such the name “Galaxy’s Edge” perfectly fits into the concept. Both the new expansions are expected to open in 2019. The first of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is coming to Disneyland, followed by the second of its kind at the Hollywood Studios of Walt Disney World Resort.

The Star Wars experience gets even more exciting and big as it goes beyond the parks. The officials revealed that a new Star Wars inspired Resort is coming as part of the Disney 360 vacation concept, which is a whole new vacation experience altogether. The Resort will never let you part away with the story. From the moment you step in, you become a citizen of the galaxy and experience the adventures just like the characters over there. And the story touches every single minute of your stay away from the Earth. No opening date announced for the Resort yet.

There will be no Han Solo or Luke Skywalker to save the day. Instead it’s you the guests who are the heroes in the new themed lands. Moreover, the new Star Wars experience allows guests to lead their own unique adventures. Whether it’s in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order or riding the Millennium Falcon the experience will be different base on your decisions.

Another ground-breaking announcement made by officials is about the first ever Mickey-themed ride attraction. The ride is coming to the Hollywood Studios and is replacing the Parks Great Movie Ride attraction. The new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will allow guests to experience the amazing world of Mickey Mouse Cartoons from the Disney Channel. Also according to officials the unique ride will feature new technologies, it will be a “2 and a half-dimension” ride and riders don’t have to wear 3-D glasses to enjoy the same. The officials also added that the ride is expected to be a “mousterpiece” with maximum hidden Mickeys ever.

Among the other big revelations made on the occasion include Toy Story Land, which is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2018. Also we have the “Guardians of the Galaxy”-inspired and “Ratatouille”-inspired attractions for Epcot. These two landmark projects are expected to open just in time when the Disney Orlando Resort will celebrate its 50 th anniversary in 2021. The year 2021 will also witness the advent of a new Tron attraction that will occupy an entirely new area, next to Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom.

Staying Cool At A Orlando Theme Park Near You

Winter time in Florida is almost here and the temperatures are rising at the theme parks to prove it. The biggest issue a traveler has when visiting the parks during the hot and humid times is their stamina and sweating to death. There are many issues that will make or break a person during their vacation here and keeping cool is at the top of that list! So many times you hear of travelers coming to the Orlando area and visiting the parks wearing as little as possible. You would think that showing up to the Magic Kingdom or Universal Studios wearing almost nothing in order to stay cool would be the best idea but time and time again this proves to be a very bad idea!

First off I would like to tell you that I used to work at Disney World for 8 years and I have seen it all. The tourist that are there on their first day and hitting the parks in the morning and then showing up at the end of that day looking like a fried lobster. The look on their faces resembling a fresh fried piece of red  leather and heat waves rolling up their whole body! Not fun and surely not feeling good! I have seen people get physically ill from too much sun to the point of needing medical attention. This is not how to stay cool folks. People from Europe are the worst when visiting our theme parks and get burned up in the first few day.

Staying cool in Florida is not that hard and requires just a few simple things. The biggest thing one must do is lather up with the sun screen! Head to toe and applying throughout the day. No exceptions. Next wear a long sleeve shirt that you won’t mind getting wet in. Ladies might want to wear a undershirt for this! Throughout the day when you start getting hot, pour a cup of water all over your shirt! This will cool your body core down and make you feel like you just jumped in a nice cold pool. Next bring a big plastic water bottle that you can refill at the parks for free. Drinking water will also bring your core body temperature down considerably. This will also save you money rather than buying water in the parks.

The biggest and best way to cool down would have to be airconditioning! Get your shirt wet and go stand or sit on one of the many areas inside at the theme parks. If you can’t find on ask! A cast member will tell you the best areas to go take a break at. I try to always take two pairs of cloths with me when I go to the parks, one for getting wet at the parks in and one for the end of the evening. This will make your trip home not a funky one! Wear a big hat and wear cool towel to wear around your neck. There are many on the market that state they are a cooling towel and they do work. Remember to pace yourself and take those breaks! It’s a vacation, not a race.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Gets Deliciously Devilish With the All New Dessert Party

Trick or Treat with Mickey and his friends

Trick or Treat with Mickey and his friends

It’s no surprise that the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a rare festive delight that WDW (Walt Disney World) has to offer. The dream Event is in fact a great way to explore the world of Disney Villains like never before. And better still- is the prospect of enjoying the latest Dessert Party as part of the special Halloween fantasy. The new one of a kind dining treat Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle is definitely one of the most decadent dessert parties we can have.

Despite being available at a special cost though, I think a visit to the all new Dessert Party is a must to experience the best of what Disney Villains have to offer. Hosted by the villains themselves, it brings to life a unique mix of Halloween fun and dining experience for the entire family. Whether you are enjoying the magical Halloween Parade and Fireworks Spectacular from your preferred viewing area or joining Lady Tremaine and her incredible bunch of evil friends, including other special guests like you at Cinderella’s royal table for a deliciously devilish dessert party, there is no comparison to the fun and entertainment one can have.

For the first time guest to the party, it will be a very special time as they will be able to experience a wonderful mix of the decadent and the wicked right in the middle of the happiest place on Earth. As a special guest of Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle you first enjoy preferred viewing for Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. And then after the magical HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular you depart to Cinderella’s Royal Table for the most devilish dessert party hosted in celebration of the villains’ favorite time of year.

While the Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween Party is one of the most celebrated Halloween events in Orlando, it’s also the most family friendly festive extravaganza unlike any other. During the Event the entire Magic Kingdom transforms into a unique vacation hub, packed with premier fun and entertainment choices for the entire family. Moreover, with every passing year the fun continues to get even more exciting here. And the advent of the new Dessert attraction sets a new standard in this regard.

After enjoying all your favorite festive offerings at the special Event, a visit to the Cinderella’s royal table for the most delicious dessert treat (inspired by villains) is the last thing that you don’t want to miss. I think it’s a complete surprise package in the offing. After all the ability to meet and greet rare characters with no wait, viewing special entertainment with plenty of space to yourself, enjoying delicious desserts, spending quality time inside Cinderella Castle, and having a bag full of special items and candies to bring home is a dream experience.

Orlando vacations are always expensive. And tickets play a major role in influencing the same. But there are many other options available to help you stay on budget. And I suggest you to visit the authorized agents and brokers for some real savings. New Fantasyland Spreads Even More Magic

Disney World tickets

With an unprecedented two Dumbos aloft, guests get to their flights faster aboard one of the park’s most iconic attractions. Connecting the two Dumbos, a new “big top” area allows guests to immerse themselves in circus lore in a series of fun, interactive experiences before a spin with their favorite circus elephant.

Magic Kingdom guests blink back in amazement at the scene: not one, but two colorful Dumbos spinning through the sky above Storybook Circus.

To the delight of fans of the beloved Dumbo, the Flying Elephant attraction, a second Dumbo flies alongside. The playful pachyderm is joined in Storybook Circus by the Barnstormer Coaster re-themed to the Great Goofini, the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station water play area and the Fantasyland Train Station — all part of the multiyear, largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history.

There’s more to come as the expansion of the New Fantasyland – nearly doubling in size — continues at Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, so many more attractions are coming on line later this year that Dec. 6, 2012 has been set as the Grand Opening of Fantasyland. Previews are currently taking place.

Slated to make their debuts:

  • Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, a major attraction where guests will travel with Ariel and her friends through their exciting adventures above and below the waves – all against a musical backdrop of songs from the film. The new attraction combines the enduring appeal of a classic Disney “dark ride” with wonderful technological innovations to offer guests a personal journey into the scenes of the film. Adventurers will feel as if they are descending below the ocean’s surface. Once “under the sea,” guests will find themselves immersed in the story of “The Little Mermaid,” sharing Ariel’s adventure through a magical cast of characters and a captivating musical score that will entice everyone to sing along.  The fun continues at “Ariel’s Grotto,” a meet-and-greet with the mermaid heroine herself.
  • The castle of the Beast stands majestically upon a hill across an old stone bridge from Ariel’s new home. The Be Our Guest Restaurant will feature a lavish dining experience in the elegant ballroom, gallery, and mysterious “West Wing” of the castle. With seating for 550, this magnificent facility will offer “great food fast” service by day and full-service table dining in the evening. Nearby in Belle’s Village, guests will find the rousing Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts.
  • Just outside the village is Maurice’s cottage and Enchanted Tales with Belle. The adventure begins in Maurice’s workshop, where an enchanted mirror is the doorway to a captivating new kind of storytelling experience: guests will be transported to the Beast’s library to meet Belle and Lumiere, and share in a lively, interactive re-telling of the “tale as old as time.”

“Fantasyland is a place where a very special kind of memory is made: where children just old enough to understand the moment come in contact with princesses and heroes and meet their most beloved friends,” said Meg Crofton, president, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, United States and France.

“We are excited about sharing our treasured stories in new ways and giving guests the opportunity to interact with their favorite characters like never before.”

Beyond 2012, there’s more in store for Fantasyland guests:

  • Located in the Castle Courtyard in the center of Fantasyland, Princess Fairytale Hall will be the new home for visiting royalty in the Magic Kingdom.  The castle-like entrance will feature walls of stone and stained glass windows, opening up into a large gallery – an airy space with a high ceiling, where portraits of the Disney princesses adorn the walls. When it’s time for their audience with a princess, guests will proceed to elegantly finished rooms to meet Aurora, Cinderella and other Disney princesses, such as Tiana and Rapunzel (2013).
  • The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will take guests on a rollicking, musical ride into the mine “where a million diamonds shine.” The coaster will feature a first-of-its-kind ride system with a train of vehicles that swing back and forth, responding to every twist and turn of the track. The journey will be accompanied by music from the classic Disney film and animated figures of Snow White and the Dwarfs  (2014).

The Moron’s Guide to Cheap Disney Tickets

Getting cheap Disney tickets isn’t all that difficult when you get right down to it. It’s kind of silly not to put in a little effort looking, either — the tickets actually cost more than you could reasonably spend in a day once you get inside the park. Free Disney tickets are a pipe dream unless you’re a professional contest enterer or you know someone who works for Disney, but getting Disney park tickets on the cheap is a trivial task once you know how to look.
